OverviewThis book is a memoir intended to capture my experiences during the years I flew as a navigator for the active duty Air Force, the Ohio Air National Guard, the Air Force Reserve, throughout my career in engineering, as well as life after retirement. I was not a hero, nor do I claim to be, and I did not serve a year tour in Viet Nam as so many of my peers have. However, I flew during the Cold War years of 1961 through 1975, and was subject to call-up at any time. I have spent long hours thinking about my experiences, but, previously, have not been able to put it all together. My wife, Marilyn, takes the credit for encouraging me to write this book. I would not change a day of my life as a rated Air Force navigator. I also relate my experiences as an engineer working for Hamilton Standard as a propeller installation engineer for four years, as well as GE Aircraft Engines in external configuration design for 31 years. I conclude my memoir by describing how I discovered my latent interest in the antique car hobby . The book may include too many photographs, but I felt that they were necessary in order to give the reader a feeling of what I experienced. In the interest of privacy, the names of people in the book have been changed.
