Energy Storage for Renewable Energy Systems: Modeling, Control, and AI Integration

Overview

This book explains single storage and multi-storage systems within the context of renewable energy applications and covers the latest developments. In renewable energy systems, energy storage plays a pivotal role in ensuring reliability, efficiency, and grid stability, particularly due to the intermittent and unpredictable nature of renewable sources such as solar and wind. The integration of storage solutions enables excess energy produced during peak generation periods to be stored and used later during periods of low generation, thereby mitigating supply-demand mismatches and enhancing overall system performance. The choice between these storage architectures depends on various factors including grid requirements, load profiles, economic constraints, and the nature of the renewable energy source. As renewable energy continues to expand globally, intelligent storage design and control have become essential to ensure optimal integration into power systems. Through eleven well-structured chapters, this book offers a comprehensive and multidisciplinary exploration of energy storage in renewable energy systems. It spans from fundamental concepts and modeling techniques to advanced control strategies and artificial intelligence applications, making it a valuable resource for students, researchers, and engineers involved in the field of renewable energy and smart grid technologies.
