Volodymyr Kubijovyc̆ was a noted Ukrainian geographer and editor-in-chief of the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies at the University of Alberta/University of Toronto. Danylo Husar Struk was a professor of Ukrainian Literature at the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Toronto.
