Scholars and researchers interested in the connection between religion and war will find this encyclopedia useful... For academic and large public libraries.
- Booklist/RBB, March 1, 2004
This substantial volume offers more than 130 alphabetically arranged entries... Other works may discuss one religion and its violent or nonviolent activities, but this volume is a comprehensive resource for historical and current views of many significant religions.
- School Library Journal, April 1, 2004
Intelligent... Undergraduates and nonspecialists will appreciate the thorough yet jargon-free style... Stands alone as the only pointed reference thus far on this particular and compelling topic. Recommended. General readers; undergraduates.
- Choice, May 2004
Highly recommended.
- Pennsylvania School Librarians Association Best Reference Titles 2003
Though scholarly in content and design, this timely work should find a place in both public and academic libraries.
- Lawrence Looks at Books, Gale Reference Reviews, May 2004
