OverviewWetlands are ecologically as well as economically important systems due to their high productivity, their nutrient (re)cycling capacities, and their prominent contribution to global greenhouse gas emissions. Her research interests lie in Environmental Microbiology and water management. She has been involved in a range of research projects funded by The Water Research Commission and The Medical Research Council of South Africa. She is currently a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society and a recipient of numerous scholarship programs including the Erasmus Mundus SAPIENT program between Europe and South Africa.
