Overview

"The title tells the story of this book. Suderman reflects on distinct ""Encounters"" that have shaped his life. These encounters are on the ""Way."" Life is an ongoing journey of learning. The encounters have ""Nourished"" his soul, imagination, and ministry. ""Life"" itself is the teacher, if only we can learn to be its students. ""Encounters on the Way: Nourished by Life"" is designed for grandchildren, children, family, friends, colleagues, and co-travellers on the Way. If it can be a seed of learning for some, it will have fulfilled its purpose."

Author Information

ROBERT J. SUDERMAN provides glimpses into his life-journey from a small farm in Manitoba, to retirement from his role as General Secretary of Mennonite Church Canada. He has served the church for 52 years: as teacher, administrator, writer, and leader. Suderman, with Irene, his wife of 55 years, now enjoys retirement in New Hamburg, Ontario. He is an active member of First Mennonite Church in Kitchener, Ontario, and continues to be involved in various informal, volunteer consulting capacities with church related organizations. He is, perhaps, best known for his persistent passion for understanding the critical - non-optional - role of the church in understanding God's reconciling mission to the world. Robert and Irene have three sons, three daughters-in-law, and six grandchildren - all of whom bring joy, blessing, and love into their life.
