Elia Ivette Cota-Rivera holds a Ph.D. in Chemical and Energy Engineering and a master’s degree in the same field, both from the Institute of Engineering at the Autonomous University of Baja California, where she graduated with honors. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the same institution. With over 25 years of experience in higher education, she currently serves as a full-time professor and researcher at the Polytechnic University of Baja California. Her research focuses on the application of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning, and their transformative impact across various sectors including the environment, energy, education, and social development. She is particularly interested in the intersection between technological innovation and sustainable development, exploring how AI-driven tools can support environmental studies, energy efficiency, business intelligence, and social sustainability. Her work contributes to the pursuit of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, aiming to bridge scientific advancement with real-world impact through interdisciplinary approaches. Marcela Hernández holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations from the Tijuana Institute of Technology, postgraduate studies in a Master’s in Administration from the Autonomous University of Baja California, and a Doctorate in Education from CUT campus Mexicali. She has been active in the academic field since 1990. Since 1998, she has worked in the private sector, holding positions in various companies such as Training Manager, Human Resources Manager, Administrative Director, and Student Services. She has also served as a teacher at educational institutions including the Autonomous University of Baja California, UNIVER, UVM, Durango University, UNIDEP, and Xochicalco University. She has delivered conferences, presentations, and published articles; she is also the author of a book based on her thesis presentation. In 2011, she began working as a professor at the Baja California Polytechnic University. In 2013, she led the accreditation project for the Mechatronics Engineering program under the CACEI accreditation process. In 2017, she participated as a member of the online higher education academic body, and served as coordinator of the Management and Small Business Administration program. She also tutored students in the Administration and Management of Small Businesses and Business Management programs. In 2018, she participated in the Professional Teaching Development Program for higher education, aimed at full-time faculty profiles, and provided graduate-level tutoring. From 2016 to 2022, she was a full-time professor in the Management and Small Business Administration program at Baja California Polytechnic University. She is a member of the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation System in Mexico (SEAES) and the State Commission for Higher Education Planning (COEPES). She has participated in webinars related to the update of the new Educational Model by the General Directorate of Technological and Polytechnic Universities (DGUTyP), and is involved with the National Council for Higher Education Coordination (CONACES). Since November 23, 2022, she has been serving as Rector of Baja California Polytechnic University (UPBC). Martha Elena González Correa holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and a Master's degree in Arts, graduating with honors from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, demonstrating a high level of academic excellence. Participating and receiving a scholarship in 2024 at Santander Skills Essential Teaching Techniques training program, offered by Harvard Business Publishing Education. In 2023, they were awarded a scholarship through the Santander Meta program to participate in an Augmented Reality bootcamp at CENTRO in Mexico City, thereby expanding their expertise in emerging technologies applied to the artistic and visual fields. Being a full-time professor at Universidad Politécnica de Baja California since 2022, associated with the Department of Engineering Animation and Visual Effects. Over the course of their academic career, profesor Gonzalez has accumulated 20 years of teaching experience at all levels in programs related to art, architecture, design, and animation. Their professional trajectory reflects a sustained commitment to training new generations of professionals in artistic and technological domains. Furthermore, their academic interests focus on researching and exploring new technologies, innovation, sustainability, and pedagogical methodologies related to the arts. Their work aims to integrate interdisciplinary approaches that promote creativity, technological innovation, and social responsibility within both teaching and artistic practice. Through these efforts, profesor Gonzalez contributed to advancing knowledge in these areas and fostering the incorporation of sustainable practices in creative and educational projects. Fabian N. Murrieta-Rico received B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees from Instituto Tecnológico de Mexicali (ITM) in 2004 and 2013 respectively. In 2017, he received his PhD in Materials Physics at Centro de Investigación Científica y Educación Superior de Ensenada (CICESE). He has worked as an automation engineer, systems designer, as university professor, and as postdoctoral researcher at Facultad de Ingeniería, Arquitectura y Diseño from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC) and at the Centro de Nanociencias y Nanotecnología from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (CNyN-UNAM), currently he works as professor at the Universidad Politécnica de Baja California. His research has been published in different journals and presented at international conferences since 2009. He has served as reviewer for different journals, some of them include IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation, Measurement and Sensor Review. His research interests are focused on the field of time and frequency metrology, synthesis and characterization of zeolites, and highly sensitive chemical detectors.
