Author Information

Griffin Pivateau is the Puterbaugh Professor of Ethics and Legal Studies in Business at the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University, specializing in employment law. His research interests focus on the intersection between law and business strategy, assisting business managers to achieve competitive advantage using the law. He has written extensively on matters of employee mobility and retention. His research has been cited by numerous courts and other scholars. Before joining the faculty at Oklahoma State University, Pivateau practiced law in New Orleans, Louisiana and Houston, Texas. Pivateau graduated from the University of Texas School of Law. Prior to law school, he attended graduate school at Southern Methodist University, where he studied Spanish Colonial America under the direction of well-known scholar David J. Weber.
