Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationJoyce Martin Perz created poetry, fiction and sketches in the wonderful places she enjoyed living over the years. ""Embracing Agency"" is her collection of some of this work. The earliest poems were written in Mill Valley, California around 1973. The Napa Valley poems originated around 1978 when she lived with her family in a rented house in St. Helena, and worked at a winery during the grape harvest. For ten fabulous years Joyce lived in Chicago (1993 -2003) where she focused on painting and participating in the local museum/gallery scene. The sketches that illustrate this book were all done in Chicago. The fables were all written in Albuquerque, New Mexico to accompany her series of running stitch designs (called sashiko in Japan). Joyce sold these designs online under the company name Sashiko Southwest from 2014 - 2022. To complete the travelogue - Joyce grew up on Long Island, New York; lived in Colorado and has traveled to London, Mexico, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
