Reviews

When Ann first shared the idea behind Embodied Betrayal Healing, I knew it would become something powerful. What she has created is a compassionate, grounded, and wise guide through the disorientation of body, mind, and spirit that so often follows betrayal. It reads like loving advice from a trusted friend, yet carries the depth and authority of her 30 years as a skilled practitioner. This book is both a masterclass in trauma recovery and a tender companion for anyone navigating the aftermath of betrayal. Anne Woods-Tinkum, L.Ac I found Embodied Betrayal Healing deeply relatable, and the themes explored offer perspective that can benefit anyone navigating challenges or seeking growth. Your words carry both honesty and compassion, making space for readers to see themselves in your story while also feeling guided toward their own healing. Having had the privilege of knowing you, I recognize the heart, wisdom, and lived experience you've woven into these pages. This work is more than a book, it's a companion for those ready to reclaim their voice, rebuild trust, and move toward wholeness. Lindy LaValley MSN, RN, CNP I started reading ""Embodied Betrayal Healing"" right after a diagnosis of breast cancer and definitely felt that my body had betrayed me! Reading of how my body may take this news and what I could expect was enlightening and helped me ""read"" my body daily. Learning techniques to help me through a tough day or even a tough hour really helped me from spiraling and wanting to just go to bed and pull the covers over my head. I hope that others will take what Ann has provided to help them in their journey through betrayal or emotional trauma and find their healing. Jen Arndt

Author Information

Ann Michelle, PT, CLT, is a practicing physical therapist with over 30 years of experience, specializing in pelvic health and lymphatic therapy. She has served as both a clinician and clinical educator, written professional continuing education courses, and currently works in private practice in Colorado, where she helps clients reconnect with their bodies after injury and trauma. She earned her Master's in Physical Therapy (MPT) from Northwestern University in 1993 and has since worked across clinical, educational, and private practice settings. Ann is also a survivor of deep betrayal-and much of what she shares in this book comes from lived experience. Her personal healing journey has profoundly shaped her clinical work with survivors, deepening her empathy and refining her ability to treat the physical manifestations of emotional pain. She is endlessly curious about the body's capacity to recover and brings that same curiosity to her work with others on their healing paths. She believes the body holds wisdom, that healing is never linear, and that resilience begins when we stop remaining silent and stop expecting ourselves to forget. Ann is the creator of EmbodiedBetrayalHealing.com, a blog-based resource for survivors of betrayal trauma. Her work bridges science, lived experience, and body-based tools to support survivors in reclaiming their physical and emotional well-being after betrayal. She shares ongoing insights through her Instagram and Substack, both under the same name: @embodiedbetrayalhealing.
