OverviewEmar after the closure of the Tabqa Dam II constitutes the second volume of the sub-series dedicated to the final publications of the Syrian-German excavations at Tell Meskene / Emar (Syria), undertaken by the Directorate General of Antiquities and Museums (DGAM) and the Eberhard Karls University of Tubingen between 1996 and 2002. The first part of this volume presents the methodological aspects of the excavation and a contribution by Dieter Muller about the topographical documentation. The second and main part of the volume is dedicated to the final interpretation of the stratigraphy and architecture of the 3rd and 2nd Millennium BCE occupation at Emar, as well as to a short description of areas of the Syrian Excavation that took place between 1992 and 1995 and was documented anew by the Syrian - German mission. The third part includes the complete documentation and possible interpretation of undisturbed house inventories belonging to different periods with all their findings.
