Overview

Chess is an ancient game, simulating warfare, that has been played by Muslim Califs, medieval kings, emperors, generals, peasants, university professors, high school students, and lay people alike. The rules are simple, but the strategies are complex. Entire libraries have been written about the various strategies of the game: openings, the middle game, and the end game.
