-This lovely book brings the perils of plastic to life through a child's eyes, but gives back the real delights of the seaside with a genuinely feel-good finale- Marine Conservation Society -Fantastic book and such a powerful message. Linda Nissen Samuels uses her beautiful drawings and vivid imagination to explain in a fun way why we should not throw away plastic and other materials. A ripping read for children and a story that parents would benefit from reading out at bedtime if we are to have a chance to save our aquatic life forms.- Paul Hetherington, Director of Fundraising and Communications, Buglife -This is really lovely. I particularly love the watery mystery of your underwater scenes. Beautifully captures the timeless wonder and excitement of days on the seashore, but with a twist for today's young readers.- Callum Roberts, Professor of Marine Conservation at the University of York. -A wonderful story to teach children about pollution
and the value of a healthy marine environment.- Jessica Taylor,
Principal Investigator Outer Banks Center for Dolphin
Research N. Carolina USA. -The amount of plastic that washed ashore in the year 2010 alone was enough to cover every inch of coastline on Earth. That doesn't even include 99 percent of the plastic that ends up in the ocean every year. Now that we know the astonishing amount of plastic that enters the ocean, we can stand up, armed with knowledge, and demand an end to the problem. 'Elly's Adventure' reminds us that it's up to individuals - especially kids! - to find creative solutions to plastic pollution and cause change.- Dr. Sylvia Earle, Founder of the Sylvia Earle Alliance / Mission Blue and National Geographic Society Explorer-In-Residence 'This is a beautiful story reminding children that they can make small and meaningful changes in their lives to help protect our ocean from harmful plastic'. #OneLess.
