Elixir

Overview

Clea Raymond is a talented photojournalist and the daughter of high-profile parents. Usually she's in total control of her camera, but after Clea's father disappears while on a humanitarian mission, eerie, shadowy images of a strange and handsome young man begin to appear in Clea's photos--a man she has never seen in her life. When Clea suddenly encounters this man in person she is stunned--and feels an immediate and powerful connection. As they grow closer, they are drawn deep into the mystery behind her father's disappearance and discover the centuries-old truth behind their intense bond. Torn by a dangerous love triangle and haunted by a powerful secret that holds their fate, together they race against time to unravel their past in order to save their future--and their lives.

Reviews

Hilary Duff's Elixir is good medicine. a novel this good is just begging for a big-screen adaptation. After gulping up Elixir, I'm ready for another dose. -Amy Wilkinson at MTV.com I can honestly say that when I came to the last page of the novel I was sad. I didn't want the story to end, and am excited at the thought of a second novel. Clea's story is so captivating that i felt like i was living in her world and watching it unfold before my eyes. Elixir is so far the best book I've read in 2010! -Alex at Twilight Series Theories The dialogue was great. I really connected with it, because as a teen I know what it's like to read a forced attempt of an adult trying to sound like a teen--and there was none of that in this book. Hilary's voice was great! I loved the fluidity of her words. -Esmerelda at Dreamz of a YA Writer Elixir will work...for fans of Lisa McMann's Wake trilogy: ...the dream elements, the idea of the incubus, and the mystery will appeal to these readers. -stacked.blogspot.com HilaryDuff has given paranormal a whole new spin. Elixir has a fresh voice, greatplot twists and an ending that left me wanting the next book in the series...when [both] the plot twists and the love triangle intensify with Clea, Sage and Ben, Iwas hooked and couldn't stop reading it. A powerful centuries-old secretreveals some character twists, uncovers a great mythology and makes for afascinating plot. -mundiemoms.com
