Table of ContentsReviewsVFT 5.0 out of 5 stars Kid-friendly (and reassuring!) book on allergies.Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2025 Format: Kindle This book is a great introduction to allergies from a child's perspective! It puts into 'kid terms'' how an allergic reaction feels and the steps that can be taken during an allergy attack. I also really appreciate the page at the back showing alternatives to common allergens. Apart from the allergies - this is a really cute story!!! The illustrations fit right in with the story too - vivid colors, cute baby elephant and family. The Super Powers nose is a fun touch! If you have someone with allergies in the family, I would totally recommend getting this as a read-aloud to make allergies less scary to kids AND give them some practical information on what to do during a reaction. It is scary for adults when they can't breathe properly and twice as scary for kids!!! i. m 5.0 out of 5 stars Great children's book to add to your child's inclusive collectionReviewed in the United States on November 6, 2025 Format: PaperbackVerified Purchase What a sweet story for ALL children! For those who do not have allergies, this story allows the reader to better understand signs and symptoms from the perspective of a child with allergies. For those with allergies, this story can lend some comfort and acknowledgement to how it feels to have an attack and how to deal with it in the moment. The story is written by a father who has a child with life-threatening food related allergies and other medical conditions. Therefore, it was written in reality and with heaps of love. J. P 5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Story About Allergies, Empathy, and Superpowers!Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2025 Format: PaperbackVerified Purchase Elifant and His Super Power Nose is such a sweet and meaningful book! It's perfect for teaching children about food allergies in a fun and positive way. It helps kids understand not only what allergies are, but also how to respect, include, and support friends who might be dealing with them. I can't wait to read it to my class and do some activities based on the story-like painting elephants, talking about ""Who's your superhero?"", and imagining what superpowers we'd like to have to fight food allergies and protect ourselves and others. A great addition to any classroom or home library! Author InformationMario is a childcare program director and first-time author living in the Netherlands. His debut children's book, ELIFANT and His Super Power Nose, was inspired by his youngest son, Elijah, who experienced his first food allergy reaction as a baby during a family vacation. With over a decade of experience working as a childcare program director, Mario has supported children with a wide range of special needs, including food allergies, autoimmune disorders, and neurodivergent conditions such as ADHD and autism. He primarily works with school-age children between 5 and 11 years old but also has extensive experience with preschoolers and toddlers. His hands-on work has given him deep insight into the daily realities, emotions, and resilience of children facing health and developmental challenges. Elijah's early years included medical challenges-from food allergies and gluten sensitivity to open-heart surgery, but also incredible resilience, therapy, and the love of family. Through these experiences, Mario saw how important it is to give children stories that help them make sense of what feels frightening. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
