Elevate early literacy skills with Book 6 R-Controlled Vowels, Diphthongs, Variant Vowels, and Silent Letters. There are 3 differentiated lessons for each of the following skills: R-Controlled Vowels: er, ir, ur R-Controlled Vowel: or R-Controlled Vowel: ar Mixed R-Controlled Vowels (er, ir, ur, or, ar) Diphthongs (ou, ow) Diphthongs (oi, oy) Other Vowel Teams (au, aw) * Silent Letters (kn-, wr-, -mb) Every component of each lesson is aligned with the Science of Reading. This series is closely aligned with the UFLI phonics progression, as well as many other structured literacy programs. Elevating Fluency was written and created by a reading interventionist and literacy coach. Engaging leveled passages are provided for fluency instruction and practice. The three reading passage options for each skill are approximately 25 words, 50 words, and 70+ words in length. Students are given multiple opportunities to read and write words with the targeted decoding skill while connecting them to meaningful text. Each lesson includes activating prior knowledge, vocabulary review, word-level fluency practice, connected text practice, comprehension questions, and phoneme-grapheme mapping of the targeted skill. Students graph their progress, increasing motivation and providing immediate feedback on their success. This program can also be used as an intervention, prevention, and extension for first grade and up. The lessons are complete and ready to go, making them perfect for classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, tutors, or homeschoolers. In addition to being aligned with the science of reading, the program incorporates multiple strategies recommended for students with reading difficulties, including dyslexia.
