Elegy to Myself

Overview

Elegy to Myself is a powerful debut collection about grief, identity, and the quiet battles we fight within ourselves. Moving from the skyscrapers and grit of New York to the desert sands of the Gulf and the faded grandeur of Buenos Aires, A.K. Degirmenci maps the emotional landscapes that shape us-memory, family, loneliness, politics, and the shadowed corners of the soul. With sharp imagery and lyrical depth, these poems offer an intimate portrait of a life marked by resilience, longing, and transformation. A raw, beautiful, and resonant book for anyone who has ever carried invisible weight or searched for themselves in the world.
