He then returned to Iowa State University to pursue graduate studies. Upon completion of his PhD, he joined the electrical and computer engineering department faculty at Clarkson University, where he is currently a Research Professor. At Clarkson, he has taught many courses in power engineering. He is currently involved in research in the areas of power distribution, distributed generation interconnection, microgrids and power system protection. He is a Life Fellow of IEEE.
