Author Information

John Traister held a master electrician's license in Virginia and practiced the trade for many years. Becoming an expert in NEC requirements for all types of electrical installations, he turned to publishing his knowledge in scores of electrical and other technical manuals, trade journals and technical magazines. Rob Adair, who revised this book in 2019, is an electrical engineer (PE) registered in the state of Texas. A career in the electrical industry spanned working as a general contractor, electrical contractor and opoerations plan engineer in a 300 MW gas-fired power plant. Progressing into system design, he designed power distribution systems for residential. commercial and industrial facilities, including giant industrial customers such as Texas Instruments, Flextronics, and AT&T. Now retired, he serves as a consultant on electrical code-compliance issues.
