Overview

Princess Elba's favorite room in the castle is, by far, the chess parlor. She attends and bets on almost every chess game. But due to an unfortunate gamble, she gets stuck spending her entire morning in the dusty old library-the last place she wants to be! However, during her long stretch of solitary confinement among the bookshelves, she unearths an ancient secret that may save her whole kingdom...or at least provide some entertainment until lunch! Lucy Butterfield is a local author (depending on if you live in her state). Unlike the main character in this book, Lucy does not bet on chess games nor does she have a pet frog, although she does have a powerful affinity for cream puffs and enjoys living with her family. It has always been a goal of hers to become a published author before reaching the legal age of majority, and she is proud to say, with Elba's help, she has finally done it. Lucy is currently working on many stories, which, like amoebas, seem to multiply at an astonishing rate.
