Sonia Saldvar-Hull is a Professor of English and the founding Director of the Women's Studies Institute at University of Texas, San Antonio, where she also directs the Women's Studies Program. Feminism on the Border: Chicana Politics and Literature, her book on Chicana feminist literature, feminism, and the cultural intersections of borderland studies. She has been co-editor of Latin America Otherwise: Languages, Empires, Nations, a book series with Duke University Press, since 1997.
