Carlos Uxó es Senior Lecturer en el Departamento de Español y Estudios Latinoamericanos en Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. Anteriormente trabajó en La Trobe University (Melbourne) y Dublin City University. Es especialista en literatura cubana contemporánea, con especial énfasis en el policial y la representación de los personajes afrocubanos en la narrativa posterior a 1990. Es autor de Representaciones del personaje del negro en la narrative cubana. Una perspectiva desde los Estudios Subalternos (Verbum, 2010), editor de The Detective Fiction of Leonardo Padura Fuentes (Manchester Metropolitan University Press, 2006) y co-editor de Cuba Today. 50 Years On (Journal of Iberian and Latin American Research, 15.2; diciembre 2009). Sus artículos se centran en literatura cubana contemporánea, las políticas de internet en Cuba y el policial cubano.
