Overview

Classics from some of world literature s most renowned authors are meticulously translated for young adult readers in this series of quality hardcovers. Eachbook includes vibrant illustrations and a full-colorsection about the author, the work, and the time period. The four stories in this collection provide a perfect showcase for Oscar Wilde s wit and keen sense of humor. From the tale of Lord Arthur Savile and his increasingly desperate and elaborate attempts to commit murder after being told by a clairvoyant that he must kill someone before he can marry to the story of the wealthy Otis family who refuses to believe in the indignant ghost haunting their castle in The Canterville Ghost, these narratives weave humor and social satire into a complex tapestry of human nature. Also included are The Sphinx without a Secret and A Model Millionaire.
