Overview

Episteme, from the Greek, is the concept that gives shape to the way in which we think and perceive things. Moreno holds that people can best find meaning in community rather than in isolation. He believes that relationships among people within community are what shape their lives and ways of thinking. The author takes us on a journey through different periods of the history of philosophy and Western society up to the present, in order to provide a clearer understanding of the values that emerge from relationships in contemporary life. For Moreno, these communal relationships can offer support to people as they confront the increasing difficulties that are prevalent in our post-modern world.
