Welcome to your new world of reading at the college level! Effective College Reading is a text workbook (a combination of a textbook and workbook format) that has been designed to assist you on this academia journey. This text is divided and sub-divided into best practices and college-level textbook excerpts gathered from college and university learning centers and developmental reading courses from across the country. In addition, several years as a literacy studies instructor at a four-year institution has guided the content presentation.   Whether it's understanding course content, finding time to study, or struggling to balance academic demands with work, personal responsibilities, and social experiences… the new norm is that students face a number of academic challenges in college.
