Overview

Ethno political violence in the form of identity based secessionist and xenophobic strife has become imbedded in the society of Manipur, causing immense distress to the people affected from it. This research explores the intricacies of nexus between insurgency based violence and mental health of the people of Manipur. This study not only describes violence as experienced and lived by the people of Manipur through narratives and memories but also measures the impact of violence on mental well-being of the people through employing various psychological measures through comparing distress in population exposed to violence vis-à-vis those not exposed to it.
