"ACCORDING TO Medical news today Eczema can be defined as ""A general term for any superficial inflammatory process involving the epidermis primarily, marked early by redness, itching, minute papules, and vesicles, weeping, oozing and crusting, and later by scaling, lichenification and often pigmentation."" Eczema is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that puts a massive strain on the services of health care and the quality of life of patients. It is a serious disease with a broad range of clinical manifestations and symptom combinations. Eczema affects up to 20 percent of children and up to 3 percent of adults; the latest data indicate that, especially in low-income countries, its occurrence is still rising. Eczema was estimated to affect 245 million people globally in 2015. Skin disease is one of the top 15 groups of medical situations for which incidence and health care expenditure raised most between 1987 and 2000, with about 1 out of 3 individuals living with a skin disease in the United States at any moment. Nevertheless, there has been no domestic information profile on skin disease since the late1970s. Mostly epidemiological studies on eczema have been carried out in infants and children around the world. Whereas studies on adults are not though adults and elderly people suffer from it. A rising trend in eczema has been observed in India in the last four decades. It is hard to assess the burden of chronic dermatoses such as eczema as the prospective effect multiple locations although eczema may be mistakenly deemed a mild skin condition, it is a chronic disorder with important personal, social, and economic impacts for the patient, family, and society. It imposes a variety of expenses on people and families."
