Overview

The work was carried out at ""El Porvenir"" farm, CCS ""Braulio Curuneaux, Guisa, with the objective of evaluating the effect of the application of different doses of plantain rachis leachate on the cultivation of Chinese chard (Brassica rapa L. subsp. chinensis). A Randomized Block design composed of 4 replicates and four treatments (10, 20 and 30% of rachis and a control) was used; plant height, root length and stem diameter were determined; in addition, number of leaves, leaf length and width and yield were determined. The data were subjected to analysis of variance and the differences between means were verified by Tukey's test. The results showed a positive effect of rachis leaching on plant height, which showed significant differences between the treatment with 20% rachis and the control; the yield components, number of leaves, leaf length and width, showed significant differences; similarly, the treatment with 20% rachis was superior to the control.
