This book talks about the relation between education, globalization and economic development. It shows how education has attained a hegemonic position in society and Gundemeda explains it in the context of information technology (IT) education in Andhra Pradesh. He draws inspiration from power and knowledge debate and has divided society into dominant and subordinate groups. [...] The book is a good read for academicians, students and researchers who have an interest in education and how it was become a hegemonic and powerful institution with globalization and even an instrument for discrimination. Nida KhanIndian Social InstituteSocial Action, 65:2 (2015) [I]t is important to listen to the author on what he is trying to communicate. The concern shared by the author is seminal and deserves the immediate attention of researchers and policy-makers. The book shows the investment of IT education not only in perpetuating inequality but also deepening it. Nagaraju Gundamed's caution must be heeded very urgently by policy-makers. Amruth G.
