Author Information

Angela Knape is a former teacher of writing in elementary schools, home school cooperatives and privately. Her love of writing is easily combined with her attachment to the places of her childhood and the people who influenced her most. She was born in a midwestern town in Northwest Ohio and grew up in a country environment north of town an acre from her grandparents.Angela is a graduate of The Ohio State University. Her major area of study in Elementary Education allowed her to choose a track in Teaching Elementary Methods Through Literature (TEMTL). The study included analysis of children's literature over time as well as using it to enhance learning in the classroom. While there, she gained professional mentoring from her program director, Dr. Gay Su Pinnell.Upon relocating after graduation, she taught in the Clover School District in Clover, South Carolina where her administration supported her teaching of literature and writing workshops. Her own experiences teaching naturally evolved into writing for and with her students.Angela Knape now lives with her husband in Fort Mill, SC. They have two daughters, one grown and the other attending the University of South Carolina. They all love cats and enjoy time at home. The possibility of a cat story or two may materialize soon. When Angela isn't writing, she enjoys traveling and reading historical fiction.
