Overview

Former Eugene Police Department detective, Paul Adler, has major problems. Officially, he's on an extended administrative leave. Unofficially, he was forced to retire early for conduct unbecoming a police officer. Until he can get reinstated, or until he drinks himself to death, he has taken on private investigations, where his lack of a filter makes him a true Dick. When a woman hires Paul to find her friend, he has a bad feeling about the case. Shortly they find a dead body on the Oregon coast, and now a missing person has turned into a murder investigation. But nothing is as it seems with this investigation. This normally serene city is rocked with murder as Paul unravels layers of deception. Will he uncover the truth before this case kills him?

Trevor Scott was born in Duluth, Minnesota. He is the author of more than thirty mystery/thriller novels in the Jake Adams International Thriller Series, the Chad Hunter Series, and the Tony Caruso Mystery Series. He has a master's in creative writing from Northern Michigan University, and a bachelor's in writing from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He served in the United States Navy as an ordnance man on the flight deck of aircraft carriers, and as an officer in the United States Air Force during the Cold War and the first Gulf War. He has traveled to more than eighty countries, and he currently resides in Nevada. Brian Troxell is a SAG-AFTRA voice-actor and an actor-actor. He's an owner-producer-director-actor at Sketchworks Comedy, Atlanta's longest running sketch comedy company, and he's also the anchor of their weekly NewsBrake program, which streams on Sketchworks' social media pages. He's performed 200 audiobooks across every genre you can imagine (except porn), and he narrated Audible.com's daily Wall Street Journal Morning Read under the name Alexander Quincy from 2015 until it was unceremoniously cancelled at the end of November 2021. Brian is represented by AMT and can be seen in Hawkeye and the fourth and sixth seasons of Cobra Kai, among other places. He lives in Kennesaw with his two cats, Winston and Malachi.
