Fenton, Ph.D. (1975) in Oriental Studies, University of Sorbonne, is Professor of Hebrew and Jewish Studies at the University of Paris IV-Sorbonne. He has published extensively in the area of Jewish philosophy and mysticism in the Islamic context including his Philosophie et exegese dans le Jardin de la metaphore (Brill, 1987). Roland Goetschel is Emeritus Professeur of Hebrew Language and Civilisation at the University of Paris-Sorbonne and Adjunct Professor at the Free University of Brussels. He is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in Salzburg. His many publications on medieval Jewish philosophy and the Kabbalah include: Meir ibn Gabaay, Le Discours de la kabbale Espagnole (1981), Isaac Abravanel, Conseiller des Princes et Philosophe (1996) and La Kabbale (1998).
