Maaike Okano-Heijmans is a research fellow at the Netherlands Institute of International Relations ‘Clingendael’ in The Hague, and a visiting fellow at the Asia Pacific College of Diplomacy, Australian National University. She expects to complete her Ph.D. at the University of Antwerp, Belgium in 2012. Jan Melissen is Head of the Diplomatic Studies Programme at the Netherlands Institute of International Relations 'Clingendael' in The Hague, and Professor of Diplomacy at the University of Antwerp (Belgium).
