Author Information

Anita Medhekar is a senior lecturer in economics and holds a PhD from Deakin University, Australia. She has completed her double master’s in education and pure Economics from Pune University and University of New England, Australia. She has taught at undergraduate and post graduate levels in India, Indonesia, and Australia and has more than 30 years of teaching and research experience. Currently, she is teaching at Central Queensland University, Australia. Her research interests are in applied International Trade, Tourism Economics, Health Economics, Gender and Development Economics, Asia-Pacific Economies, Public Finance, South-Asia, Australian Economy, Bilateral Trade and Development for Peace, Supply Chains, Public Policy, and Public-Private Partnerships. She has presented papers at numerous international conferences and received best research paper awards. Anita has numerous refereed publications in journals, conference proceedings, with edited books, and book chapters to her credit Dr. Anisul M. Islam is currently serving in the rank of Professor of Economics and Chairman at the FISER (Finance, Info Systems, Economics and Risk Management) Department at University of Houston-Downtown, U.S.A. He has earned his Ph.D. degree in Economics from the University of Alberta (1985). Currently he is the Course Coordinator for Economics He is the past President of the Southwestern Society of Economists and Chapter Chair of the Academy of International Business-US Southwest Chapter. Dr. Islam has co-authored several books, many book chapters, and published numerous articles in peer-reviewed academic journals in international economics, international finance and economic development. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Global Economy, Trade and International Business and serves in editorial boards of several other professional and peer reviewed academic journals. S. Jobayear Ahmed is a motivated Research Associate with the Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute, Ministry of Commerce. He has four master’s degrees in applied Statistics and Data Science(MSc), Entrepreneurship Economics(MSS), Marketing(MBA), and Political Economy(MSS). Currently he is involved in international trade related research (associated with EPA/FTA GVC, RVC, and WTO dispute settlement), trade related training need assessment and capacity building of the government officials, chambers and business associations and WTO related policy advocacy including the smooth transitioning strategy after LDC graduation of Bangladesh in 2026. Jobayear brings in first-hand experience of international trade policy formulation, export, import, branding, testing, certification and standardization of the products and services project management through complex field operations conducting field work for 8 years (2016-2025) in Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI), International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), BRAC International and Light Castle Partners. In 2022, he won a Stanford University Fellowship in Frontiers of Social Innovation, and in 2021, he was awarded IOM Scholarship for Certificate Course in Migration. He was also selected as a Young Talent for 2021, to work on United Nations Sustainable Development Goal- 4 on Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education for All; Besides achieved a Japan Foundation Scholarship in 2017.
