Originally published in Spanish in 1994, this book has been completely updated and revised for this English edition. The book collects and expands on the findings of more than 20 years of work by an international team of ichthyologists and marine biologists studying the coastal fish and habitats of Cuba. In chapters arranged topically, the 13 contributors: detail the physical characteristics of the Cuban coast; document the physiology, behaviour, reproduction, feeding patterns and growth patterns of the region's fish; and survey Cuba's fisheries-management programmes.
