He graduated from University of Delhi and was awarded Ph. D. in Plant Molecular Biology in 2013. He joined Indian Forest Service in the year 2012 and worked as Forest Officer in the State of Gujarat, India. He has worked in Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary as protected area manager. He joined the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change, Government of India as Assistant Inspector general of Forest and is working for Project Lion, Project Elephant and Forest Conservation. Dr. Mittal has published research articles, review articles/book chapters in International peer reviewed journals. Dr. Dharmendra Kumar Gupta is working as Director(S)/Scientist-F at Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, New Delhi.
