As Advik journeys through his teenage years, achieving expectations of family, friends, teachers, and managing ups and downs of Type 1 diabetes. Along the way, he started expressing himself via words and discovered the healing power of his poems. His poems carry joy, sorrow, inspiration, positivity and love in equal measures, a quiet light in life's difficult moments. May these verses offer you the same calm, courage, and hope they gave him. Advik Ekre is a high school junior (As on 2025) living with his parents, Abhijit and Rupali Ekre, in Charlotte, North Carolina. His family traces its roots to a farming village in India, and Advik takes great pride in the strong values passed down through generations. A unique blend of science and creativity, various STEM awards under his belt, he excels in both STEM and the Arts.
