About the author: Christie L. Jenkins earned a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of California at Davis. She did research at CSU Northridge, UC Davis and UC Riverside. She taught briefly at the undergraduate level at UC Davis and CSU Northridge. A published author, this is her seventh book in the Science for Young Scholars series and her first on a virus.
