Reviews

The author has a wonderful, conversational style of writing--I can hear her voice come through as clearly as if we were talking over a cup of coffee. This book is like having a conversation with a very knowledgeable gardening friend who is sharing anecdotes and experiences. It's enjoyable to listen, and you will pick up helpful tips and techniques or be inspired by something new or different. --Dan Gill, Consumer Horticulturist, Louisiana State University AgCenter-- (12/16/2014) The text is easy to read and it does a good job of condensing and consolidating several broad fields of information into a single, concise package. The writing style is uncomplicated without being condescending, the recipes are a nice touch, and there is a good blend of practical tips (trombetta squash grows fast enough to outrun the squash vine borer; stockings make good melon supports) and common information, along with some rather uncommon entries (calamondin and kumquat marmalade!) to keep it from being just a rehash of other material. --Suzanne Labry, Contributing Writer, Texas Gardener Magazine-- (12/16/2014)
