OverviewThis chicken house is designed to be built with as few cuts as possible for quick and easy construction. Laurene has built two other chicken houses from reclaimed wood and materials. Eachhouse turns out a little bit different. This house is designed for inexpensive materials to keep the cost low, and still have a structurally sound home for the birds that will keep them sheltered from the wind, cool in summer, and warm in winter. With so many jobs to do on the property, we needed an easier solution for keeping the chicken house clean also. After researching many styles, Laurene came up with this new design as an experiment that will improve the functionality of the chicken house as well as make it easier to keep clean for the birds. The less work it takes to care for them the more we are able to enjoy the benefits of keeping chickens in our yard.
