Author Information

Jordan Bailey (Indianapolis, September 30, 1966) is an American chef and restaurateur who specializes in traditional American cuisine with modern interpretations. He combines French, Mediterranean, and American styles into his cooking and he is best known for his eponymous restaurant in Los Angeles, California and for other restaurants in New York, Las Vegas, Toronto and Santa Fe. Jordan started cooking at his father's bar at age 16: by the time he graduated high school, he had been exposed to every position, and he completed his culinary education in 1987 at the Hyde Park, New York campus of the Culinary Institute of America. He has written several books, including two autobiographies as well as various cookery books. He has also written for many publications, and currently writes a weekly column for the Daily Week Magazine and presents a bi-weekly show on Tagada Radio. In 2007, Chef Bailey and his wife Jennifer Steringer founded Food-rights inc., a non-profit organization conceived to build culture as a way of empowering communities and advocating for healthy and equitable food systems.
