Bargello is an easy craft to master as it comprises just one simple straight stitch. Striking patterns form by repeating the stitch in different colours and arrangements. The book features a short history of this traditional technique, followed by an exploration of the different fabrics and materials used and explains everything a beginner needs to get started on their first project. Each pattern features step-by-step instructions and modern life-style photography beautifully illustrates the construction of each piece. AUTHOR: Rosemary Drysdale grew up in the north of England near Newcastle, and learned to knit as a small child. She was at the forefront of the cross stitch craze in the 1990s, traveling the world teaching workshops and giving demonstrations. She is recognised as a global expert on black work embroidery, as well as a teacher of many other advanced stitching techniques. Drysdale joined Vogue Knitting in the late 1990s and has consulted to some of the top yarn brands in the industry. A prolific designer, she has had over 1000 designs published. Author Information

Rosemary Drysdale grew up in the north of England. After studying textile design at Durham University, Rosemary emigrated to the United States and worked as an embroidery designer. She was at the forefront of the cross-stitch craze in the 1990s, travelling the world teaching workshops and giving demonstrations. She is recognized as a global expert on black work embroidery, as well as a teacher of many other advanced stitching techniques. She lives in East Hampton, NY with her husband.
