Hugh Westbrook has worked for a number of leading media organisations in the UK and has written about a diverse range of subjects throughout his career. Always fascinated with the English language, he has an English degree and a postgraduate qualification in linguistics. He started his Wordability blog in September 2011 and has seen it grow to be read in around 100 countries round the world. A passionate supporter of Brentford Football Club, Hugh lives in Oxford with his wife and two young children. He appeared on Countdown but prefers not to talk about it.
