She was awarded the Vancouver Charter Chapter of International Coach Federation's 2016 Coach Impact award. In 2019 she received the CEO Magazine's Business Consultant Award and was a Finalist for the Book Excellence Awards for her second book - Awaken Your Authentic Leadership - Authenticity Journal. Tana has published three books in the Awaken Your Authentic Leadership series - about how to be your best self as a leader. She has spoken to audiences at hundreds of engagements and was a keynote speaker at the 2018 China Executive and Leadership Coaching Summit in Beijing. Tana has more than 35 years of business and leadership experience, is a thought-leader in the area of Authentic Leadership and Emotional Intelligence and has been researching and practicing mindfulness for more than 15 years. Tana lives in beautiful British Columbia, Canada, with her husband, Chris and cat, Buddy. In this, her first book collaboration, Lesley Layton, infuses her years of research and understanding of emotional intelligence and parenting with her love of art in general and, in particular, illustration. Graduating from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science degree and, subsequently, from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College summa cum laude, Lesley is a Doctor of Chiropractic, having worked in private practice for 17 years, and serving on the British Columbia Board of Chiropractic Examiners for three years. Retiring in 2007 to attend to her youngest son's multiple medical needs who has Down Syndrome and twice survived acute leukemia, she continues to contribute to the bookkeeping aspect of her husband's dental practice. In addition, Lesley has been a strong advocate for her son, Samuel, in the Vancouver Island Board of Education, community, and health care systems to ensure inclusion and support for children and adults with Down Syndrome and other special needs.
