Author Information

It all began in the autumn of 1979 when 18-year-old James Thulin, a native of the Chicagoland area, found himself standing before the breathtaking landscape of Devil's Lake State Park in south-central Wisconsin. With the sparkling blue waters at his feet and a 500-foot bluff rising before him, James was captivated especially by a mysterious effigy bird mound on the south shore. At that moment, he knew: ""There's a story here!"" That moment of inspiration stayed with him for decades. After countless return visits to the park and years of reflection, James poured his passion into writing his debut novel, EARTH CHIEF, in 2000 a groundbreaking Native American-themed superhero story. Though his initial promotional efforts were limited and sales modest, his dream never wavered. James's journey hasn't been without hardship. He survived a near-fatal car accident that left him with lasting physical challenges, and a decade later, he faced multiple-organ failure in 2020 that nearly took his life and his story with it. But against the odds, James made a remarkable recovery in 2021. Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, he returned with renewed vigor, determined to bring EARTH CHIEF back this time, re-imagined and more relevant than ever in the complex world of 2025. And so, after publishing the 'revised original' EARTH CHIEF 2025, he followed up with this spectacular, 'passing of the torch' sequel edition, ""EARTH CHIEF: Ethereal Son,"" continuing the epic saga. Beyond writing, James Thulin has led an accomplished career in research and development, spanning 27 years as a Senior Researcher/Technologist. He holds a U.S. patent granted in 2011 for a sustainable ceiling system designed for green living spaces. His creativity extends to music as well. James is a passionate singer, guitarist, and bassist, and even composed a theme song for Earth Chief titled ""Birdman Like a Mountain,"" available on his website: earthchief24central.com/jamesthulin. Looking ahead, James has written two movie screenplays adapted from the 2025 edition, along with a 'trilogy' third one 'on the way, ' which are in active development for potential film adaptations. In addition, an animated sitcom inspired by his Bigfoot-themed short story ""Purge @ 8000"" is in the works, along with a chilling autobiographical novel based on his real-life paranormal experiences ready to be shared when the time is right. James Thulin's story is one of vision, resilience, and unwavering creativity proof that when a story needs to be told, nothing can stand in its way.
