This book provides a brief history of the period 900 - 1500 CE, when numerous kingdoms occupied the territory between the Zambezi river, the Limpopo to the south and the Indian Ocean to the east. The Kingdoms of Butua, Great Zimbabwe, Manyika and Mwenemutapa emerged, expanded and dominated the Greater Zambezi Valley, creating the customs, beliefs, sculptures, mining, smelting and farming methods we observe; setting up the trade routes and networks and even the modern territorial borders. It is why we have have BaKalanga, VaTsonga, VhaVenda, AmaNdebele, AmaShona, AmaZulu and many other peoples and clans of Great Zambezi origins in present day Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
