This study seeks to show the dynamics of traditional institutions in the management of forest resource around the Mt. Cameroon forest area. These traditional institutions have for centuries played a significant role in the management of forest resources around the world. These institutions are dynamic and adaptive, responding to changes in local and global contexts. They all perform various roles and activities and also combine spiritual beliefs, traditional knowledge, and community participation in the management of resources. These practices and guidelines have been effective in maintaining the balance between human needs and the preservation of forest resources. When forest resources are connected to cultural, religious or spiritual practices, conservation needs to consider both biological and cultural diversity.
