Overview

Set in Southern California in the present with flashbacks to Capri. On Capri, the California heroine, an artist, and her English friend Bara find the body of a murdered man while they are attending a week-long Conclave on Capri. The two are ordained Catholic womenpriests, joining with many others from throughout the world. At home in Los Angeles, in the Arts District, she continues her profession as an artist, and as a priest. Men for the Faith, a secret and dangerous Italian group, have vowed to eliminate all womenpriests. Now they are focusing on the twenty-five in the Los Angeles diocese. The leader of the group has another motive-he believes that the artist and her friend Bara are the murderers of the man on Capri.
