Having served for eight years active-duty military in the U.S. Army and 25 years in law enforcement, he has seen assignments in search and rescue, criminal investigations, and worked several homicides. As an active pilot, he flew fixed-wing and rotorcraft aircraft for a state agency in remote wilderness areas. An avid outdoorsman and big game hunter, he and his wife enjoy hiking, camping, and traveling the world.
