Overview

For fans of North Woods and The Vaster Wilds, Dusk is a propulsive, moody, and atmospheric take on the Western. In the distant highlands, a puma named Dusk is killing shepherds. Down in the lowlands, twins Iris and Floyd are out of work, money and friends. When they hear that a bounty has been placed on Dusk, they reluctantly decide to join the hunt. As they journey up into this wild, haunted country, they discover there's far more to the land and people of the highlands than they imagined. And as they close in on their prey, they're forced to reckon with conflicts both ancient and deeply personal. From the critically acclaimed and award-winning author of The Rain Heron, Dusk is a masterful, mythical tale of loss, redemption, and survival.

Author Information

Robbie Arnott is the author of the novel Flames, which won the Margaret Scott Prize, was short-listed for the Victorian Premier's Literary Prize for Fiction, the Guardian Not the Booker Prize, and the Readings Prize for New Australian Fiction, and was long-listed for the Miles Franklin Literary Award. In 2019, he was named a Sydney Morning Herald Best Young Australian Novelist. He lives in Tasmania. Zoe is an accomplished actor who's been treading the boards - and various other floor coverings - for about thirty years. Her voice is naturally warm, sincere and friendly, but she can also project to the back row of the Opera House or belt out a cry of joy/anguish if needed (just off-mic, of course) - all the while retaining a truth and authenticity which has won her a Helpmann Award, an AFI nomination, and makes her an exceptional voiceover artist. Zoe has voiced countless campaigns including McDonalds, Origin, Elevit, Ancestry.com, and has been the voice of National Geographic and Nat Geo Wild for many years now. She's also recorded several audiobooks, evoking many different characters with ease and depth, whilst narrating each novel with nuanced understanding of its particular content and intention. She can take complex direction and deliver immediate results, making her a favourite with clients and studios alike. When not in voice studios, or acting on stage, film and television, she also enjoys fronting her Nancy Sinatra tribute band! Yep, those boots are made for walking - and this voice is made for talking! (And singing, of course;))
